UNDER THE CONCEPT “LOVE-PATIENCE- SUFFICIENCY-GIVING”

True Group, in response to the popularity of Thailand’s first Dharma reality TV program “Novice Monks Cultivate Dharma Wisdom” (now in its fifth year), is bringing its dharma on tour to the central part of Thailand at Wat Khao Wong in Saraburi province overseen by the abbot Phra Khru Bhavanabhilas.

This year’s program will focus on following the footsteps of the Lord Buddha under the theme “Love-Patience-Sufficiency-Giving” with aims to cultivate knowledge with virtues among the young, leading them to engage in the act of giving and doing good deeds for others with a sincere mind, while being a good example for society and inspiring viewers’ interests in dharma and to lead lives in accordance with Buddhist principles.

The public is invited to give moral support to these 12 young novices, who were selected from over 3,000 applicants from across the country, by watching the month-long reality program which will run from April 22 – May 22, 2016 on TrueVisions Reality Channel 99 and TrueVisions Reality HD Channel 119 or 333.

Mr. Suphachai Chearavanont, President & CEO, True Corporation Plc, said “True Group is forging ahead with the continuation of the Novice Monks Cultivate Dharma Wisdom TV program which is now entering its 5th year as a tribute to HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej on the occasion of his 89th Birthday Anniversary on December 5, 2016 and a tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit on the occasion of her 84th Birthday Anniversary on August 12, 2016. And to cultivate good deeds, virtues and ethics among the young generation, the Dharma Reality program, which brings together good quality content along with entertainment, is suitable for audiences of all ages, especially for families.

This is the key fundamental place where good values for the young generation are cultivated so that they can grow into good adults in the future.

This year, the Dharma classroom expands on the Dharma on Tour TV program format and will come to the central part of Thailand. The 12 novice monks who were selected from more than 3,000 applicants nationwide will be brought to Wat Khao Wong in Saraburi province to study and practice the Lord Buddha’s teachings. According to Ayutthaya chronicles, this historic place is one of the oldest and most sacred sanctuaries linked to Buddhism.

The program is honored by the abbot of the temple, Phra Khru Bhavanabhilas (Luangta Watcharachai Intawangso), who will act as headmaster, leading the young novices to follow the footsteps of the Lord Buddha.

They will learn Dharma under the theme “Love-Patience-Sufficiency-Giving” comprising:   
1) Love - learn how to love within Dharma principles;
2) Patience - learn how to be patient and not give up;
3) Sufficiency - learn how to be satisfied with what one has and be content; and
4) Giving - learn how to give with a sincere mind. This will cultivate the young novices to engage in the act of giving and doing good deeds for the others with sincerity, as well as set a good example while at the same inspire Thai youths and the public to be more interested in Dharma principles and how to apply them in their daily lives.” 

 

In addition, it is a great honor for True Group that for this year’s TV program, HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has bestowed a set of monk’s robes for the preceptor in the Novice Monks Cultivate Dharma Wisdom Year 5’s ordination ceremony, which will be held on April 24, 2016.

This year’s highlights will include masters from previous programs since year 1-4 including Pra Maha Wuttichai Whachirametee, director of the Vimuttayalaya Institute, reverend monks from the King Rama IX Golden Jubilee Temple and a group of “For Good Life” reverend monks will teach Dharma to these 12 novice monks.

Furthermore, interested viewers can follow 46 episodes of special scoops covering the lives of the 46 former young novices and little nuns from years 1-4, and see how life has changed for these young people after having participated in the program.

“Starting from the first to the last day of their monkhood throughout the four weeks, the 12 young novices will learn and practice Dharma step by step from the headmaster Phra Khru Bhavanabhilas (Luangta Watcharachai Intawangso).

The team of instructors includes reverend monks and several experts as well as Thailand’s famous public figures such as Dr. Art Ong Jumsai Na Ayudhya, Dr. Woraphat Phucharoen, Jon Jandai, Woody, Christopher Wright, Ple Nakorn, Dan Worrawech, Pancake Khemanit and Kohtee.

TrueVisions will broadcast the young monks’ daily life activities and Dharma practices live every day, from 06.00 – 21.00 hrs. Viewers who are not able to follow the program during the daytime can catch the daily highlights from 21.00 - 21.45 hrs. Other program segments include Dharma Talk (21.45 – 22.30 hrs.) and from 22.30 - 06.00 hrs, series of the Dharma variety program will be aired, featuring Buddhist proverbs, Dharma teachings, Dharma legends, Dharma songs and daily highlight reruns.
