Present Simple Tense
ใช้กับเหตุการณ์ที่เป็นจริง เกิดขึ้นเป็นประจำหรือปกติวิสัย ความจริงตลอดไป และมักมี adverb of frequency (คำกริยาวิเศษณ์ที่บอกเวลา) อยู่ด้วย

adverb of frequency ได้แก่คำว่า
always  สมํ่าเสมอ
usually  โดยปกติ
often   บ่อยๆ   
sometimes บางครั้ง
seldom  ไม่ใคร่จะ
never   ไม่เคย

ตัวอย่างประโยค
I always go to bed at 10 p.m.
The sun rises in the east.
I never drink coffee.

โครงสร้าง  ประธาน + กริยา (s,es)
He, She, It    plays with a ball.
                    comes home.

I, You, We,They    read a book.
                            drive a car.

เมื่อเราต้องการทำเป็นประโยคปฎิเสธและประโยคคำถามให้เอา Verb to do (do,does) มาเป็นกริยาช่วยในประโยคคำถามที่เป็นแบบ yes-no questions ให้เอา do,does วางไว้หน้าประโยค

Does    he, she, it     work?
Do    you, we, they, I     study?

ให้เอา Verb to do (do,does) มาช่วยในประโยคคำถามแบบ wh-questions เช่น
Where do you come from? I come from Surin.
How do you do?

ประโยคปฎิเสธให้เติม not หลังคำ do, does
He, She,It             does not (doesn't)         work.
I, You, We,They    do not (don't)               study.

เมื่อเอา Verb to do มาใช้ในประโยคปฎิเสธและประโยคคำถามกริยาแท้ไม่ต้องเติม s หรือ es
