โดยทั่วไปเมื่อเราต้องการบอกพนักงานว่า เราอยากซื้ออะไร สามารถใช้สำนวนตัวอย่างเหล่านี้

    I want …                    ฉันอยากได้…

I’d like to buy ...                ฉันอยากซื้อ...

I’m interested in buying a ...        ฉันอยากซื้อ...

I’m interested in seeing ...            ฉันอยากซื้อ...

I’m just looking.                แค่มาดูเฉยๆ

 

คำถามที่พนักงานมักจะถามเกี่ยวกับไซส์สินค้าที่เราจะซื้อ เช่น

What size T-shirt do you wear?        ใส่เสื้อยืดไซส์อะไร?

What size shoes do you take?        ใส่รองเท้าไซส์อะไร?

 

พนักงานถามลูกค้าว่าจะลองใส่ดูมั้ย?

Would you like to try it on?

 

ถ้าเราต้องการจะลองใส่ดู ให้ใช้สำนวนดังนี้

I would like to try on this ...        ฉันอยากจะลอง...อันนี้

 

เมื่อลองสวมใส่แล้วก็บอกกับพนักงานว่าเป็นอย่างไรบ้าง เช่น

It fits me.                    ใส่ได้พอดี

The shoes are too small for me.        รองเท้าคู่นี้มันเล็กไป

The shoes are too tight for me.        รองเท้าคู่นี้มันคับไป

The shoes are too big for me.        รองเท้าคู่นี้มันหลวมไป

 

ตัวอย่างสำนวนที่ใช้ในการถามราคา “ราคาเท่าไหร่?”

How much does that add up to?        รวมยอดทั้งหมดเท่าไหร่?

ตัวอย่างสำนวนที่ใช้ในการต่อราคา

It’s too expensive.            ราคาแพงเกินไป

It costs too much.            ราคาแพงเกินไป

The price is too high.        ราคาแพงเกินไป

That’s rather expensive.        ราคาแพงไปหน่อย

Can I bargain?            ลดหน่อยได้มั้ย?

Any discount?            มีส่วนลดบ้างมั้ย?

Can you reduce the price?        ลดราคาให้หน่อยได้มั้ย?

Can you lower your price?        ลดราคาให้หน่อยได้มั้ย?

พนักงานขายบอกว่าไม่สามารถลดราคาได้
