Coordinating conjunctions
      For (เพราะว่า), And (และ) , Nor (และแบบปฏิเสธ), But (แต่), Or (หรือ), Yet (แต่), So (ดังนั้น) หรือ FANBOYS
     คำเหล่านี้จะคั่นประโยคด้วย “, (คอมม่า)” ตามด้วยคำสันธาน แต่ว่าถ้าประโยคสั้นๆ ก็ไม่ต้องใส่คอมม่าก็ได้ โดยที่ Coordinating conjunctions จะเชื่อมคำหรือประโยคที่มีหน้าที่แบบเดียวกัน หรือมี tense แบบเดียวกัน เรียกว่า โครงสร้างขนาน (parallel structure) เช่น

• The children are energetic and noisy.  = adjective + adjective

•  She bought a skirt and a blouse. = noun + noun

•  He walked slowly and confidently to the witness stand.  = adverb + adverb

•  Swimming and hiking are my favorite summer activities.  = gerund + gerund

คำสันธานคู่ (ใช้โครงสร้าง Parallel เช่นกัน)

• Both…and (ทั้ง.. และ…) + V พหูพจน์ => Both my mother and my sister are here.

•  Not only…but also (ไม่เพียง…. แต่ … ก็ด้วย) + V ตามตัวหลัง => Not only my mother but also my sister is here.

•  Either…or (อย่างใดอย่างหนึ่ง) + V ตามตัวหลัง => I’ll take either chemistry or physics next semester.

•  Neither nor… (ไม่ทั้งคู่) + V ตามตัวหลัง => Neither my sister nor my parents are here.
